IdenTrust

If you have an old Android smartphone, you may not be able to do web browsing on your mobile from next year i.e. 2021. Yes, if you use Android Smartphone 7.1.1 Nougat or older, then you will not be able to access the secure website from next year. If you search the secure website from the old Android smartphone, you will get the message of Certifications Errors.

What was the reason
According to the Android Police report, many types of important websites on smartphones running on the old Android operating system will not be opened after September 1, 2021. This is because ‘Lets Encrypt’ announced that the company’s partnership with the certification authority IdenTrust is ending on 1 September 2021. There is no plan to renew this partnership. Due to this, the secure website will not be accessible from next year.

Upgrade old smartphone
If you are using 7.1 or less of the old Android smartphone operating system, then it is better to start using the newest Android smartphone. At the same time, if you are not in the mood to change the old Android smartphone, then it would be better to start using Firefox. With this, you will be able to access the Secure website. Firefox is currently available in select browsers that have their own Trusted Certification Route. In such a situation, if someone has installed Firefox with the latest version, then they will have an updated list of the Trusted Certification Authority if the operating system is out of date.

New update has not been released since 2016

Around 66.2 percent of Android devices worldwide operate on older Android versions 7.1 and above of the operating system. At the same time, only 33.8% of Android devices work on the operating system of 7.1 and below. This 33.8 percent users will not be able to access the Secure website.
